Healthy Holiday Gifting

“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” -   Mother Theresa If you are on an airplane, the stewardess will remind you to place the mask over your own face before helping someone else place the mask over their face. The same principle applies to how we live.. By taking care of ourselves first we have so much more to give to others. One of the ways in which we can take care of ourselves and also give to others is through health cooking and eating. I love to bake which is a gift I give myself.   And of course, unless I intend to eat it all myself, this gift is joyfully passed along to others. For me, healthy baking means I do a little satisfying of the conventional sweet tooth and a little satisfying of my need for health. Healthy (and even not so healthy) baking makes for wonderful gifts, so let’s get started with a healthy twist on an old favorite recipe. Below you will see how I substitute traditional ingredients with healthier

“I slept and I dreamed that life is all joy. I woke and I saw that life is all service. I served and I saw that service is joy.”                                                                                                  Kahil Gibran Being thankful is such a beautiful key to have with us as we move into the month of December, and to a month we think of as a time to give. “Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give.” - Ben Carson December is upon us. The days are darker and colder. Thanksgiving is past. This time of year can be a difficult one. We have spoken about the power of our dark and shadow sides, and as we bring that power with us, and all the resources of the 11 keys I have spoken of throughout the year, we are resourced as never before to enter the darkest time of the year. We have spent an entire year exploring The Twelve Body Presencing Keys and how they unlock the secrets to wholeness, joy, and vitality.   The power of choice, acceptance, forgiveness, authenticity, joy, creative passion, sensuality, self nurturing, rest and fallowness, shadow work, and gratitude all combine to create a life of wholeness and possibility.   When embodied we become an overflowing chalice from which others can drink and we have more than enough from which to give freely to others.   The Power of Giving is

“ As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”                              - John F. Kennedy As the holidays approach, the very idea of being with family can cause stress, overwhelm, and anxiety rather than nurture the joy and gratitude we long to experience.   Emotional triggers abound and it can be challenging to see that the very wounds and weaknesses we have inherited from, and experience within, our family are also the sources of our strengths and wholeness. When I was a child, Pollyanna was a popular movie that I loved. It influenced me mostly in subconscious ways, and yet, I remember the movie vividly. What I remember most was Pollyanna’s attitude towards life as well as her imagination. As a child I didn’t know the word for this was gratitude. Even years later when people come to me and speak of very difficult things, my mind goes to the positives in the si
