The Power of Letting Go In Order To Let In

“ As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”                              - John F. Kennedy As the holidays approach, the very idea of being with family can cause stress, overwhelm, and anxiety rather than nurture the joy and gratitude we long to experience.   Emotional triggers abound and it can be challenging to see that the very wounds and weaknesses we have inherited from, and experience within, our family are also the sources of our strengths and wholeness. When I was a child, Pollyanna was a popular movie that I loved. It influenced me mostly in subconscious ways, and yet, I remember the movie vividly. What I remember most was Pollyanna’s attitude towards life as well as her imagination. As a child I didn’t know the word for this was gratitude. Even years later when people come to me and speak of very difficult things, my mind goes to the positives in the si

What Do You Take For Granted?

“When it comes to life, the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude.”                                                                                    Gilbert K. Chesterton When we are young or doing well and feeling good, we don’t usually think about our health. We often take it for granted. We become blind to that wonderful gift. Yet as we get older, we become more aware of how health is the foundation of every other gift life offers us.   We also become aware of how we have taken care of our bodies, our teeth, our knees, our hips, our necks, our stomachs, pancreas, intestines, heart,   and our liver because neglect shows up as symptoms and disease. At some point, joints wear down, livers become toxic, hearts become stressed, stomachs make fewer enzymes, and so much more. It is only then when we sometimes take an inventory in order to see what we did that contributed to our current state of health. I had an exper

Grateful For Life

“Thank you is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.”                                                                                             Alice Walker This past February, I had an experience that shifted me.   The experience made me aware of a greater power taking care of me; a silent partner. It made me grateful for life itself and all of the things that make up this gorgeous experience on Earth. November’s blogs will focus on The Power of Gratitude as one of the keys to unlocking health, wholeness, and vitality. Have you ever had an experience that made you grateful just to be alive? I have.   I was in Kansas City with my husband the weekend of a huge snow storm. I had gone with him as he had a work opportunity, and I was using the day for a day retreat for myself. We stayed at a beautiful old hotel where I had planned a day of swimming, massage, coffee, and relaxing while h

The Eleventh Body Presencing™ Key: The Power OF GRATITUDE

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, and a stranger into a friend.”                                                                                               Melody Beattie November is the month we celebrate Thanksgiving and ironically the month in which we traditionally become stressed, overwhelmed, and irritable.   This year I suggest we look at the holidays in a way that fills us with joy, celebration, and gratitude! Living in a state of gratitude means being aware of our strengths and our weaknesses , the good and the bad, and then consciously choosing how to view ourselves, others, and life in a way that adds rather than detracts from our sense of well-being and vitality.   My first career was professional dancing.   I loved to dance. It made my soul sing. I am now older and while I
